HEALING POWER OF CELERY


I bought a green smoothie some months back which had celery as one of its ingredients. While placing my order, I was a bit skeptical about how a celery smoothie would taste, but my oh my did I enjoy it. Now, I am busy making celery smoothies and even cooking celery soup. I know I tend to go overboard with new discoveries. Well, all of this made me wonder what my body was benefiting from my new found love. After all, it is a vegetable, so it should have loads of nutritional and health benefits right?

FABILA'S FITNESS CLUB 2014 VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

2014 was indeed a great year at Fabila's Fitness Club. We launched three fitness programs: Gospel Aerobics, Body Barre Fitness and Zumba Sentao. We also played host to Nigeria's first fitness carnival "Shape Up Naija" which brought together the best of Nigeria's health and fitness industry.

I was quite adventurous this year with my workout routine. I added bikram yoga, belly dancing and Burlesque to my list and I enjoyed all of them, especially the physical benefits. My first few weeks of belly dance training left the mid-section of my body in pain.

I have been reading lots of nutrition books lately and I must say I respect my body a lot now. I am more careful about what I throw in my mouth and I have doubled my vegetable and fruit intake. One thing I have noticed with many people, especially those of us who exercise a lot, we tend to think that exercise is an excuse to eat junk. You are wrong if you think so. Your diet is just as important and you cannot cheat for too long. A bad diet will surely tell on you.

I recently introduced a new program to my Clients “Body Barre Fitness”. My interest in Barre Fitness stems from my love for ballet. You however, do not need to be a ballet dancer, or dancer at all to participate in a Barre Fitness program. Barre fitness classes are ballet-inspired, incorporating a ballet Barre and elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and functional training.
